Just thought I'd say I did buy and fit a compressor fridge - fantastic thing! It's left on 24/7 and the solar panels easily covers the electricity. I highly recommend it! :)

She actually loves the motorhome, fantastic layout, fixed double bed etc. This is despite the front cab needing to be fixed / replaced! I will be fitting new wings, doors, scuttle panel, front panel, arches etc. ...... And the bathroom currently not being there! The roof light leaked so I had to remove the bathroom to check for damage, luckily only the wood in the bathroom ceiling needs replacing, everything else was fine but currently everything has been removed and just the toilet has been put back in there. As I'll be doing a new refit at some point easier to leave it out rather than keep going through the same process.... Lovely new roof lights though! The fridge is the only real thing she's asked for so... well not much to do for an easy life; and I love buying toys for the hobby! :woohoo:

...wäre Deine Frau nicht glücklicher, wenn Du ein neues Wohnmobil kaufen würdest?

Perfect! A compressor fridge!!!! I didn't know about these! I've just had a look, they use only 1.4 - 1.7 ish amps which is nothing - quite impressive really. That would fit in perfectly! I wan't to fit an LPG vapour tank under the vehicle which leaves the gas locker spare. A compressor fridge means I can move that left where the gas locker is, and then there's room for a SMEV oven to the right of it. And a new fridge means a happy wife.... :woohoo:

Hallo Daniel,

Hi,

The fridge wouldn't light on gas, I cleaned up the burner unit and now the spark has something to connect to it's working. My flame is a little low on the fridge though and turning the control knob doesn't seem to change the flame - it looks like it's working on minimum. I'm going to blow through the pipes today, if that doesn't help could it be the thermocouple - it doesn't look in great condition so maybe it's not fully opening the gas valve, or is the valve either on or off?

Now... with the cost of parts, and my wife saying can we have a new fridge, this is old..... will the new electrolux models pretty much fit in? I'm happy doing a new gas pipe and electrics, but would rather not cut more holes in the bodywork for vent and exhaust grilles. I quite like the idea of the newer electronic ignition on the fridges but not sure if it's worth all the work? Has anyone else put a new fridge in?

Thanks,

Daniel
