What type of wood are the doors?

Hi,

I read somewhere what type of wood the doors are made of, unfortunately despite a lot of searching I can't find where I read it. Can someone tell me what type of wood the doors are made of please?

Also, are they solid wood or laminate? I'm wondering whether it's possible to sand down the wood for a lighter colour?

I collect the Hobby tomorrow..... can't wait!

Hallo Daniel,
das Holzdekor der Möbel ist z.T. unterschiedlich. Bei Deinem Fahrzeug (Bj. 1984?) müsste es sich um einen der ersten 600er handeln, und die wurden in Kirsche ausgeliefert.
Natürlich kann man das Holz anschleifen und andersfarbig lackieren. Haben wir alles schon gesehen. Ist aber Geschmacksache.

But maybe yours is different ? I think you have to use "wood type cards" (i think you can borrow them) from a carpenter or wood store to be sure what type it is.

To your second question:
I think they are laminate but i although think it is possible to sand them down a little bit to get a lighter look. Test it at a hidden place to be sure it works and use a fine sand paper, not a rough and don't forget to cover it with a protective varnish.
