Engine Tappet Valve Clearance

Hi,

I need to check the tappets / valve clearances as part of the service. I have a manual which states:

Inlet 0.30mm
Exhaust 0.20mm

Normally the exhaust clearance is bigger than the inlet. Has the manual made a mistake and it should be the other way around?

Hi Daniel,

What type of motor do you have ? The clearence for my motor a 2.5 td is 0.5 inlet and 0.5 exhaust.

It's a 2.5d. I have just set them at 0.20 inlet and 0.30 exhaust. Seems okay...
