Which earth for new fuse panel

Hi,

I'm putting another fuse panel in to run the auxiliary bits and pieces. I'm using the main live from the existing switch panel. On the 12 pin plug going into the switch panel, which earth would you recommend using as the main earth for the new auxiliary panel? Hopefully that makes sense!?

ich kann mir leider nicht ganz vorstellen, was Du umbaust. Hast Du Bilder oder Schaltplan?

I could barely understand it myself... and I wrote it! I'll try again, if not I'll take a picture tomorrow; I've settled in for the night now! :)

The fuse panel for the auxiliary electrics tv, fridge, lights etc. They all have one main live on the switch panel. I want to add in another fuse switch panel so I can separately fuse some other electrics. I'm going to connect to the main common live from the original fuse panel. The next issue is negative. I could wire up a separate negative from the battery for the new fuse switch panel or rather the devices which will connect to it, but it should be neater and easier to wire up to an existing negative from the main control panel - splicing off one of the wires. There are two main plugs going into the main control panel one has 12 connections, the other I think from memory 6 or 8. The 12 pin plug has a few negative wires. If I was to splice into one of these to provide negative to the new switch panel electric, which would you use?

If it's still confusing I'll add photos to help show what I mean! :)

ich weiß ja nicht genau, was Du vorhast, aber die Sicherungen im CP sind nicht gerade optimal. Ein Problem sind die langen Leitungen - von der Sitztruhe in der B-Säule hoch zum Dach, dann über die Tür zur Windschutzscheibe, rüber auf die Beifahrerseiten ... und dann den gleichen Weg wieder zurück. Da würde ich keine zusätzlichen Sicherungen einbauen. Außerdem ist die alte Ladeelektronik nicht mehr Stand der Technik. Wenn Du was neues machen willst, dann habe ich einen Vorschlag.
Habe ich mal in einem 85er eingebaut.

Neues Ladegerät mit Relais, Batteriewächter und Messwiderstand unter die Sitztruhe

Schalter und Sicherungsplatine in die Seite der Sitztruhe (kurze Leitungswege)

Anzeigeeinheit mit Hauptschalter über die Fahrertür. Alter Raum vom CP wird Ablage / Schrank.
Nimm es einfach mal nur so als Idee.

That's very nice; I was already halfway through the job though so I've continued! Well, managed to do lots today, including take some photos.

You can see the new electrical panel next to the existing one. I will be connect the live positive (+) bar on the existing panel to the new panel, that will give positive live (+).

The problem is negative. I want to make a common negative (-) for all the accessories that will be powered from the new switch panel. I've taken a photo of the wiring plugs. There are a few negatives (-) going in the wiring plugs; which would be the best negative (-) to connect into?

Hopefully it makes more sense this time..... :)

am besten nimmst Du die (-)-Leitung, die direkt mit den Batterien verbunden ist. Das ist im Stecker S1/3. Jetzt kommt es darauf an, welche Version Deine Verdrahtung ist. Es müsste dann SA9 bei Version 3 bzw. SA12 ab Version 4 sein. Schaltbilder findest Du im Download-Bereich. Erläuterungen zu den Steckern im Fotokatalog.

How do I tell what version I have? The control panel had (if I recall) 8805 on it; though I can't see this in the diagrams.

I'm trying to read the diagrams but I'm struggling... Is SA9 and SA12 the pin number in the plug? Is the wire colour different from each version?

die Prüfziffer des CP steht normalerweise von außen drauf ( Aufkleber siehe hier ). Die 8805 kann es aber nicht sein. Muss etwas so um die 1### sein. Möglicherweise steht sie auch innen.
Ich habe mir Dein Foto gerade noch mal angeschaut. Von der Relaisanordnung her könnte es die Version 4 sein. (Dann passt aber das Baujahr 1984 in Deinem Profil nicht).
Nach den Kabelfarben würde ich nicht gehen, da sie unterschiedlich sind. Im Fotokatalog findest Du Bilder von den Platinen und Steckern (von der Version 5). Da sind auch die Pinne bezeichnet. Sie stehen aber auch in kleinen Zahlen auf den Gehäusen.

It's registered as 1985 but that could be 1984 - 1986.

It's 8805 on the outside, I will check the inside and see if there are any more numbers. Thanks for putting the links. I will check again tomorrow and if need be, I will take pot luck on a negative!

Ok! The control panel has 13706 on the circuit board. The main viewing panel has 8805 on it. What version does that make it?

I think pin 3 on plug S1 in a negative (-) Would you say that's the best one to use?

wenn die 8805 auf einem gelben Aufkleber steht, dann hast Du Schaltplan Version 4 . Dort findest Du unten rechts die Gültigkeitsnummern.

S1/3 ist die Masse, die von den Batterien kommt. Du kannst Dich dort anklemmen oder an SA12; je nachdem, was für Dich günstiger ist.

There's nothing in the pin 12 on plug S1.

When you say S1/3 Is that Plug S1 (with the 12 connectors) and, Pin number 3?
